Thrills and spills in Adelaide
When the world's best three-day eventers compete at the Adelaide International Horse Trials there's always great riding and action aplenty

Adelaide's
International Horse Trials - one of the world's four Four-Star three-day
events and the fourth staged in the garden city since the event was inaugurated
in 1997 - attracted a top class field, including Australia's Sydney 2000
Olympic Games gold medallist, Stuart Tinney.
Despite breaking his collarbone during the event, Stuart of Maraylya, NSW, riding Ava, finished second in the Four-Star section to David Middleton of Warragul, Victoria on Willowbank Jack.
David Middleton dominated the dressage and cross country and incurred just one penalty in the showjumping.
As
Four-Star champion he won $25,000 prizemoney. Third place in the Four-Star
category was Megan Jones of Hahndorf, SA riding Kirby Park Irish Hallmark.
Niki Chapman (Guanaba, Qld) on Lion King won the Three-Star section after an outstanding performance in the dressage and cross country.
Second was Tim Boland of Duffy's Forest, NSW riding Kanandah Alchemy, and Niki Chapman's training companion, Claudia Graham of Branxton, NWS, riding Diamond B Vogue, was third. Claudia pushed Niki all the way until bringing down the first rail in the showjumping.
The showjumping was sponsored by RM Williams.
