Wrotham Park Station on Cape York is one of the most scenically stunning cattle properties in Australia. And now it’s the home of the outback’s latest resort – a wonderful eco-friendly development perched on the edge of an escarpment overlooking the Mitchell River. What is special about the venture is the marriage of a huge working cattle station with a high-end luxury resort. Under the strong, steady hand of David Roberts, who, with his wife Marise, has been managing Wrotham for the past three years, the 650,000-acre station runs 35,000 head of Brahman cattle, turns off some 15,000 weaners a year, and is home to 25 permanent staff.

Also in the Oct/Nov issue is a comprehensive insight into Clyde Agriculture, one of the most diversified pastoral operations in Australia today, but one that still operates with a strong family emphasis. Clyde controls more than two million acres of land, produces wool, beef, prime lambs, cotton and cereals in huge volumes and has total rural investments exceeding $200 million.
